Mr Willy to Host 2009 Chicago Horror Film Festival
Babes booze and blood are the three basic components used to build an amazing film festival, now just add in a little romance and mystery and you have the official host of our 2009 festival Mr Willy Adkins.
The character known as “Mr Willy” was born at the Chicago Horror Film Festival during a performance by a theatrical goth band called DiAmorte. Every since that 2006 festival, this dark mysterious guy dressed in black and a top hat started making regular appearances at many misc venues all over Northern Illinois. He has showed up in the middle of several Wooden Box Theater performances, heard repeatedly on Chicago's Fearless Radio, and has hosted many charity events for Twisted Wish Productions. We have all heard of him, we have all seen him... But beyond the dark romantic character with a thirst for blood, who is this guy behind the top hat? The answer may surprise you!
Mr Willy Adkins when out of the infamous top hat is a well known paranormal investigator. His life long fascination with ghosts and the paranormal encouraged him to get more involved in researching claims of paranormal activity and found his own ghost hunting team in 2006 known as The Illinois Ghost Hunters. His group of very talented and dedicated individuals has become a nationally recognized and respected force in the world of paranormal studies. He also founded AfterlifeParanormal.com, his independent paranormal website offering news and information about the paranormal to the world. Mr Willy has used his knowledge and experiences from traveling some of the countries most haunted locations to help and educate others via several media outlets. He was host of Audio Paranormal Radio, Producer of FASTF!LM's IGH TV, Host and Producer of IGH Radio, new columnist for Ghost Tech & Dart Arts Magazines and has spoke at dozens of paranormal seminars and conferences.
Beyond his journeys into the unknown, Mr Willy is very heavily involved in production work. His entertainment company, Spook Show Entertainment, has hosted many live events, radio shows and public access TV. He has been a very active dark arts photographer since 1996 (Deviant Desires Photography) specializing in horror/gore model portfolio production. In 2006 he founded a charity production company known as Twisted Wish Productions using donated time and talent to help others in need. Mr Willy has stayed very active with other ventures in Acting and Modeling as well.
Mr Willy is currently working on several projects. He is hard at work to bring the Indy Horror Film Festival back to life in 2010, he is hosting several haunted tours & investigations, and is currently seeking out acting rolls as well. He is also looking to take part in documentaries film and conferences involving the paranormal. But as always, his most important and rewarding roll is being “Daddy” to his two daughters Dixie Belle & Bethany Madison.
